Joe Bob Black, 83, of Stuart, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at his home.

Family visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Stuart with Pastor Jerry Hollaway officiating.  Burial will follow at Rock Creek Cemetery in Stuart. Active pallbearers will be Terry Martin, Mike Weeks, Tyler Clift and Brody Brannon.  Honorary pallbearers will be Eric West, Denton McNutt, Ken Derry and Pat Canfield.

Joe Bob was born on August 2, 1941 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Vernon and Maggie (Buse) Black. He graduated from Stuart High School in 1960. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army as Sergeant 1st Class during the Vietnam War. Returning home after his military service, he worked as a cattle rancher and a horse trader. Also, he was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and the Cattlemen's Association. He has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Stuart, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his daughters, Holly McMahan and husband, Jeremy of Stuart, OK, Kim Brashears and husband, Mark of Ada, OK, and Louisa Larkin of Oakland, CA; grandchildren, Collin McMahan and wife, Dakota, Liam McMahan, Finley McMahan, Taylor Anderson and Jordan King; great-grandson, Easton King.

Joe Bob was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Black; mother, Maggie Buse-Hill; grandparents, John and Esther Buse, Tom and Minnie Black; brother, Terry Hill; and sister, Evelyn Terry.
