Joan Norvonna Ragan, 75, was called home on January 7, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.  She is preceded in death by her father, Donald M. West; sister, Brenda Hearn; daughter, Tammy Ritter; nephew, Donald Ventura; five brothers-in-law; and father-in-law, Arthur Ragan.  She is survived by her husband, Johnny Fred Ragan of Oklahoma; children, Ronda Habecker of Hawaii, David Lawrence of Oklahoma, Frances Burnett of Texas and Tonya and husband, Robert Boyd of Arkansas; 5 handsome grandsons and 7 beautiful granddaughters; 23 great-grandchildren; mother, Jeannetta West of Texas; sisters, Charlene Mitchell, Dawn Hazelwood, Melodie and husband Dave Roan of Texas, Deborah Garringer of Colorado, and Victoria Foster of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Nadine Ragan; sister-in-law, Jeanene and husband Randy Davis; brother-in-law, Billy and wife Judy Ragan of Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will all feel her loss.

Joan was the kindest person that anyone could know.  If anyone needed anything, she was the first to offer help in any way that she could.  She spent her retirement life finding adventures with her husband, Johnny Fred.  She loved to play games with family and friends, and she never went easy on her sisters.  You could always find her reading a book, or watching her favorite soap opera.  She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her dearly.  Her passing has created a void that can and will never be filled by any other.  These words do not do her justice, she was simply the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend we'll ever have had the privilege of knowing.  Our hearts will be forever saddened by this great loss.

A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Indianola School Auditorium at 1:00 P.M..
