Jimmy Leon
Watson
Dec 22, 1947 — Nov 14, 2025
Hartshorne
Jimmy Watson was born December 22, 1947 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Henry Carlock Watson and Norma Dean Watson. Jimmy married Nancy Sirmans on April 10, 1992.
Jimmy proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was stationed in Madrid, Spain, where he formed lifelong memories and friendships.
After his service, Jimmy was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and worked there for approximately 34 years as a mail clerk and processor, retiring in September of 2004 to operate his small gravel hauling business and enjoy his family.
Jimmy dearly loved his Uncle Dud Watson and spent many hours helping him keep the Sulphur Cemetery clean and beautiful. After his uncle's passing, he continued caring for the cemetery on his own for many years, honoring the tradition they shared. It was very important to him for every veteran in the Sulphur cemetery to be recognized and honored on Memorial Day.
Jimmy enjoyed going on adventures with his brother-in-law John. He and his other brother-in-law, Wayne, always enjoyed discussing military experiences. Jimmy's wife, Nancy, was the center of his world, and nothing made him prouder than seeing their family grow. He loved his family with his whole heart and always celebrated their accomplishments.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Carl and Ella Watson; maternal grandparents, Talton and Doshie Bruton; father and mother, Carlock and Norma Watson; and Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Webby and Lois Sirmans.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Nancy Watson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Shala and Clifton Kuykendall; grandson Carlton Peterson and Ashley, granddaughter Maison Rosales and Alejandro, and granddaughter Murphy Peterson and Zachary; one great grandson, Noah Peterson; and one bonus grandson, Joey Kuykendall and Amanda, five bonus great granddaughters, three bonus great grandsons; one sister-in-law, Carol Honeywell; two brothers-in-law, John Sirmans and wife Gloria, and Wayne Sirmans and wife Janell.
