Jimmy Quinton, 81, of McAlester, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Jimmy was born on November 18,1943 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Farrell and Pauline Ruth (Spicer) Quinton. He attended McAlester High School and was captain of the football team. He was a correctional officer for the Oklahoma State Penitentiary for many years before retirement. He coached little league sports, including his daughter, Shelli's softball team. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and football fan.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelli Dawson; grandson, Kyle Dawson; granddaughter, Rachael Crist; great-grandchildren, Korie Dawson, Junie Dawson and Kobi Dawson; brother, Jerry Quinton; nephews, Todd and Matt Quinton; Uncle, Rudolph Spicer; his long time significant other, Martha Brown, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Farrell Quinton; mother, Pauline Quinton and a daughter, Tawna Crist.

A family and friends visitation will be held at a later date.
