Jimmie "Hops" Walter Taylor II, 55, of McAlester, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his loved ones with a full heart.
He was born on January 5, 1969, in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Jimmie Walter Taylor I and Patricia Lovett. He was married to Rhonda Simon. He enjoyed his family, fishing, guns, the farm life and most of all, his grandbabies who lovingly called him Hops.
Jimmie spent 21 years with Haliburton, worked as an independent Company Man for 8 years, and worked for Cudd Energy Services for the past 3 years.
Hops had a passion to be a servant and a bringer of Joy, he would help anyone who asked at any time. Hops embodied the term "Good People", he invested in the lives of those around him and when given the opportunity would do what he could, without ever asking for anything in return. His favorite holiday was Christmas, the Joy he received in bringing joy to those whom he cared about could not be any greater.
Hops had a pride and love for his family that will live on long. The impact he has had in scores of lives will not be forgotten. Whether it be the folks he impacted professionally or his family, the legacy of Jimmie "Hops" Taylor will be cherished by those who shared life with him.
He is survived by his spouse, Rhonda Simon; children and family, daughter, Ashley and son-in-law Thomas Gibson, and grandchildren Brayden, Kade, and Olivia; daughter, Britani and son-in-law Chad Fitzsimmons, and grandchildren, Hadleigh, Hudsyn, and Cole Walter; daughter, Brittney and son-in-law Cameron Busby, and grandchildren, Ella, Connor, and Caleb; daughter, Darby Simon, and grandchildren Brayleigh; daughter, Bridget and son-in-law, Dane McCuen, and grandchildren, Rhett and Owen.
Preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents and both mother, Patricia Lovett and father, Jimmie Walter Taylor I; niece, Latisha Bush and nephew, Brenden Burns; and son-in-law, Brenden Golson.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home chapel in McAlester.
