Jim Bob Steidley, 89, of McAlester passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, at his home in McAlester.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.

Jim Bob Steidley was born on Aug. 14, 1935 in Indianola to Hubert and Cora (Shelton) Steidley.  In 1963, Jim Bob was living in Montana and met his future wife, Nelda Luker, and they were soon married.  Jim Bob had received his Bachelor's Degree in Education and when they moved to Oklahoma, Jim Bob began teaching.  He taught at Okmulgee, Union Schools in Tulsa and in Battiest.  They eventually moved to Haileyville in 1974, where Jim Bob opened his motorcycle parts and repair shop.  They eventually moved to McAlester, where they have been the past 20 plus years.  In his spare time, Jim Bob loved to go fishing and camping.

Jim Bob is survived by his wife, Nelda Steidley; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Craig Compton;2 grandchildren, Tye Turney and Megan Steidley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, JR Steidley and A.H. Steidley; and a brother, Jerry Steidley.
