Jerry Ronald Vest, 75, of the McAlester area, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at his home.

Jerry was born on May 20, 1948 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert and Mary Katherine (Adams) Vest. He married Barbara on September 2, 2006 at Crowder Baptist Church.  He was an electrician and enjoyed fishing, golfing, knife collecting, reading, playing the piano, family, friends and he loved to cook and entertain.  He was a member of Crowder Baptist Church and was active in organizing a new church building in Crowder.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Vest; his children and spouses, Jerry Lynn and Shonda Vest, Larry and Melissa Vest, Jamie and Rusty Bivin; stepson, Steven Wills; stepdaughters and husbands, Stephanie and Tyler Guthrie, Kristi and Neil Trimm; eight grandchildren; brother, Bobby Vest; sisters, Lilly Baker and Kathy Trimble.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Robert Vest; his mother and stepfather, Mary Katherine Baggs and Burnell Baggs; and a sister, Linda Barlow.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Crowder, Oklahoma with Brother Terry Moore officiating.
