Jerry Bart Sparks, 81, of Kiowa, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Rev. Russell Horn officiating. Burial was at Gowen-Cambria Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Mitchell, Ronnie Gilmore, Douglas Wiess, Justin Wilkett, Granvil Sparks, and Joseph Wolf. Honorary pallbearer is Anthony Bart Sparks.

Jerry was born on March 27, 1944 in Buffalo, Oklahoma to John Winfred and Laura Elizabeth (Bartimus) Sparks. He married Carolyn Sue on December 1, 2012 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. He worked in non-profit ministries, visiting all churches around Pittsburg and Latimer County. He was a sculptor, and did some work for Taco Bob's. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and singing.

Survivors include his children, Anthony Bart Sparks, Zane Granvil Sparks, Lana Staton, and Jerri Allison Lien; 4 grandchildren; brother, Carl Arnold Sparks; and nephew, Joe Lawrence; a number of other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Sparks; second wife, Carolyn Sparks; his parents; son, James Kendall Sparks; brothers, Jack Richard Sparks, Joe Sparks, Danny Dee Sparks, Jessie Frank Sparks; sister, Ramona Lee Cox; half-brothers, Orvil Watkins, Ed Watkins; half-sisters, Ramona Lee Cox and Betty Sue Sparks; uncle, John Winfred Sparks, Jr. and nephew, Jonathan Jack Sparks.
