Obituary

Jeffrey Lee Miller, of McAlester, was born on June 4, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas to Ivan and Betty Miller. He passed, along with his girlfriend Shannon Montgomery, on February 25, 2022. Jeff graduated from Caprock High School in Amarillo, Texas in 1979. He attended Amarillo Junior College where he met Janai, and they were married in 1980. They then moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where Jeff graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Administration….and his love for OSU and orange began. Jeff and Janai made residence in Quinton, Oklahoma where they welcomed 3 children; Rex, Heath and Kayla. Jeff and Janai were co-owners of Choctaw Gas Company in Quinton. Jeff was an avid team roper in his early years, traveling to rodeos and causing mischief wherever he went. There are many stories that can't be told of Jeff at "the Pink House" and Lake Eufaula. He later hung up his rope to travel and watch years of football, basketball and baseball while his children were growing up. Jeff enjoyed his time attending OSU events, traveling all around the country to support his Cowboys. Jeff was a member of the McAlester Country Club, the Elks Lodge, OSU Alumni Association, OSU Posse and a former regent at Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his children; Rex and wife Caroline Miller of McAlester, Heath and wife Jordan Miller of Norman, and Kayla and husband Chris Ohls of McAlester. He was Gramps to Jackson and Gracie Miller and Caden and Connor Ohls. His brothers, Lynn and wife Tanja Miller; John and wife Becky Miller; and sister, Cathy and husband Rusty Dillon all of Amarillo. And many, many friends and buddies of the McAlester Country Club. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Betty Miller; grandparents, Earl and Julia Miller and Maro and Hazel Oblander; and a very special Aunt Grace.

In honor of his love for orange, the family asks that orange be worn to his come-and-go celebration of life on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 1:00-3:00pm at the McAlester Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of McAlester. PO Box 1111, McAlester, OK 74502
