Jeffrey Lynn Lake, 63, of Sam's Point, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, at his home. The family will welcome friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester. Jeff's nephew, Nolan Lake, will officiate. Pallbearers are Daniel Henson, Todd Lake, Nolan Lake, Pee Wee Rodgers, Austin Smith and Jan Agnew.
Jeff Lake was born on Feb. 9, 1958 in Talihina to Jack W. Lake and Frances (Reed) Lake. He grew up in the Chambers Road area and attended Savanna Schools, graduating with the class of 1975. He attended Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree focused on computer technology. His early work had him travelling a lot working on computer-based robotics, a cutting-edge technology at the time. He had also worked at Eastern State College in Wilburton. He eventually went to work for AT&T and that took him from McAlester to Kansas City then to Broken Arrow. Jeff and Patricia Worley were married on Feb. 24, 1990 and when Jeff retired in 2019 and he and Pat moved to Sam's Point. While living there, Jeff served on the Board of the Sam's Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Patricia Lake; his children, Jennifer Henson and husband Jason and their children, Calleigh Henson, Jacy Henson and Daniel Henson and his wife Krisshell and their children Aliaya, Lyla and Atticus; Aaron Lake and fiancé Mikalynn Goodsey; and Dessie Scullawl and husband Nathan and their children Allie, Walker and Loran Scullawl and Kendra Lake and Liam Wamego; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Terry Bryan; and 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Pat Lake, and Mark and Mariella Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
