Jeffery Darren McKee, Sr., 57, of Krebs, passed away Friday, April 14, at his home in Krebs.  Funeral services will be Monday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Life Church in McAlester, with Rick Dominic officiating.  Pallbearers will be member of the McAlester Police Department.

Jeff McKee was born on July 15, 1965 in Midwest City to James Daniel McKee and Donna (Callaway) McKee.  They moved to Stuart when Jeff was in the seventh grade and he completed school there.  He joined the McAlester Police Department in 1987 as a patrolman.  In 1995 he was promoted to Sergeant; then in 2006 he was promoted to Lieutenant; then in 2011 he was promoted to Captain.  During this time he was also named Detective two different times.  Jeff was also a LEDT instructor and a firearms instructor with the McAlester Police Department, and was a member of the Special Response Team.  In his spare-time, Jeff liked going to the lake, camping, fishing, hunting and riding the side by side, and especially liked having his grandkids around.

Jeff is survived by his children, Jeff McKee II and wife Denise, Malarie Blasengame and husband Tyler, Cheyenne Crowder and husband Jake, and Courtney Barnett and husband Colby; grandchildren, Malcolm McKee, Nevaeh McKee, Jaxon McKee, Braden McKee, Madi Blasengame, Layne Blasengame, Austin Deaver, Brooklyn Deaver, Jackson Crowder, and Kinley Barnett; his parents, James and Donna McKee; his grandmother, Dorothy Marvel; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Jamie and Lee Ann McKee, and Joe McKee; and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Scott White, and Juli and Cary Collings.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob Marvel and Jack and Elva Callaway.
