Jearl D. Copeland, 77, of Hartshorne, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born on December 8, 1943 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to Silas and Edna (Edwards) Copeland.  He married Mernie Thulin on June 29, 1964 in Pryor, Oklahoma.  He was a Sergeant in the United States Army during Vietnam.  He was a pastor, salesman and mechanic.  He loved singing, playing guitar, hunting, fishing and his family.  He was a member of the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Mernie Copeland of Hartshorne, OK; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Jeanie Copeland of Locust Grove, OK, Dale and June Copeland of Bengal, OK; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma and Travis Martin of Locust Grove, OK, Naomi and Dennis Mersdorf of Idaho, Lorene and David Alley of Idaho, Rosella Benny of Sapulpa, OK, Retha and Matt Grisham of Sapulpa, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Dickard and Rodger Benny.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.  Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6 ^th at the Iron Post Free Holiness Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Brother Joshua Ewing officiating, assisted by Kevin Webster.  Burial will follow at McClain Cemetery in Locust Grove.  Active pallbearers will be Nathan Copeland, Zachary Copeland, T.J. Dickard, Timothy Dickard, Ted Jones, Marcos Dos Santos and Jeremy Martin.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Copeland, Travis Martin, David Alley, Dennis Mersdorf, Mickey Thulin, Hovey Thulin, Doyle Thulin, Johnny Thulin, Robert Thulin, Raymond Jones, David Copeland and Matt Grisham.
