Obituary

James Quincey "Buster" Jacobs, 83, of Krebs, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in McAlester.

James was born on January 13, 1940 at Lenna, Oklahoma to Ollie Bigboy and Eunice (Young) Jacobs.  He married Susan Ziemer on March 27, 1965 in Barstow, California.  He grew up in Lenna and graduated from Stidham High School in 1958.  He served in the US Army and did his basic training in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was stationed in Germany for 3 years.  He has been a resident of McAlester and Krebs for 44 years and was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Elks.  He retired from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in 2002 as Chief Personnel Officer, working for civil service for the US Government for 44 years.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Jacobs; children, Melanie Frisbee (husband Sean Frisbee) of Dayton OH, Brian Jacobs of Krebs, Elena Jeffus (husband, Stephen Jeffus) of Dallas TX; sisters, Wilma Bratton (husband, Bill Bratton) of Redding, CA and Nancy Jacobs of Los Angeles, CA; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Ollie Jacobs; sister, Marilyn June Jacobs; brother, Ollie Junior Jacobs

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester.  Masonic services will be conducted.
