James Randall "Randy" Norman, 69, of Canadian, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at his home.  The family is planning memorial services at a later date.

James R. Norman was born on Sept. 10, 1954 in Amarillo, TX to Bill Edward Norman and Janell (Hess) Norman.  He married Sheila Evans in 1983 and they made their home here.   James worked for the city of McAlester maintaining the softball complex, until he moved to Duncan as the city's Community Services Director.  After 4 years, he and his wife retired and returned to the McAlester area.  James loved umpiring softball games and being on the lake fishing, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

James is survived by his 2 daughters, Stacy Dawn Fite and Shannon Gail Webster; 2 grandchildren, Scout and Hannah; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Evans.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila, in February of this year, and his parents.
