Obituary

James Frank Littlejohn, 83, of McAlester, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, in Oklahoma City.  The family will welcome friends for visitation on Friday, Feb. 13, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Rev. Hak Melton officiating, and David Wallace doing the eulogy.  Burial will follow at the Redden Cemetery in Redden, Okla.  Pallbearers will be James Littlejohn, Ryan Uhing, James Swisher, Bradon Swisher, Elijah Wheeler, and "Tumbleweed" Swisher.

James Frank Littlejohn was born on May 28, 1942 in Redden, Ok. to William Pinkney and Teresa Pearl (Snow) Littlejohn.  He grew up in the Redden area and where he graduated from Pittsburg High School.  He married Nora Ellen Barbaree on Jan. 2, 1966 at the Frink Baptist Church. They eventually moved to Claremore, and James worked for the Broken Arrow Electric Supply Company for a few years.  He eventually worked for Locke Supply Company in Claremore until 2005, when he was transferred to Locke Supply Company in McAlester. He continued working there until his retirement. James was a big fan of OU and Kansas City Chiefs Football, and really football in general. He was such a big fan he would let you know when the Dallas Cowboys lost.  He also liked to hunt, fish and camp, anything outdoors with family and friends. He loved spending time with family and friends, making memories by telling stories or jokes. Most importantly, he loved being ornery to everyone, leaving a lasting impression that would forever define him.

James is survived by his children, James Lane Littlejohn and Sarah Ellen Swisher; grandchildren, Wynter and Ryan  (Littlejohn) Uhing, James and Aubrie Swisher, Bradon Swisher, Kylah and Elijah (Swisher) Wheeler, and Clyde "Tumbleweed" Swisher; and his great friend, Sadie, his Labrador.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora, in 2020; a grandson, William Joseph Lane Swisher; a great granddaughter, Nora Feerl Marie Swisher, and siblings, Jennylynn and Ervin Pool, Geneva Melton, Bobby and Effie Littlejohn, Johnny and Barbara Littlejohn, and JoAnn and Ronnie Caudill; his parents William and Teresa Littlejohn and his parents-in-law, Charlie and Sarah Barbaree.
