James Elmer "Jim" Russell, of Hartshorne, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home in Hartshorne.
We will celebrate and honor his life with a graveside service on Thursday, February 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Cemetery Pavilion in Hartshorne with David Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Marcus Bell, Austin Mass, Sam Russell, Camden Russell, Owen Russell and nephew, Bill Thomason.
Jim was born on November 29, 1946 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Lola Mae (McCullar) Russell and Mike "Jr." Russell. He married Carol Sikula in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Jim and Carol Celebrated 58 years of marriage. Jim was a building contractor and member of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitter Union. Jim served as a Deacon of the Hartshorne Christian Church. He was past president of the Hartshorne Roundup Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, rodeos and camping.
He dedicated his life to his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol Russell; children and spouses, Charlene and Mark Bell, Jimmy and Pam Russell, DaNon and Sean Mass, and Mike Russell; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Marcus Bell, Kim and Waylon White, Paige and Aaron Lebs, Sam Russell, Austin and Michaela Mass, Mylan and Dusty Platt, Aubrey Russell, Camden Russell, Owen Russell and Deegan Russell; 8 great-grandchildren, Kannon Bell, Kilyn White, Jayce White, Colt White, Wilder Lebs, Dani Jaymes Mass, Boone Mass and Amos Gene Platt; sister, Marchella Thomason, and brother, Ernest Russell.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Holt; brothers, Micheal Leon Russell and John R. Russell; and his parents, Mike "Jr." Russell and Lola Mae Russell.
