Helen Lucille Lee, 79, of McAlester, passed away Thursday, June 1, at McAlester Regional Health Center.  Graveside funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Helen Lee was born on Nov. 24, 1943 in San Francisco, Calif., and came to McAlester as a child with her family.  They lived in Kiowa briefly, but Helen grew up mainly in McAlester and Krebs.  Helen was married to Billy Gene Lee, who preceded her in death.  She worked as a Registered Nurse, beginning at St. Mary's Hospital, then McAlester Regional Health Center, for over 35 years.  At home, Helen loved her dogs, and loved working in her vegetable garden.  She is survived by 2 children, Leland Lee and Vonda McFadden and her husband Thomas; 2 grandchildren, Heather and Lonnie; 2 great grandchildren, Haylee and Piper; a sister, Ann Winger; and a nephew, Jimmy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and all her siblings.
