Hazel Mae (Baker) Dobbs a longtime resident of McAlester passed away Monday August 29, 2022 in McAlester.  She was 88 years of age.  Funeral Services are set for 10:00AM on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Pastor Roy Prince officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery of McAlester.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Hazel Mae Dobbs was born was born April 17, 1934 in Valliant, Oklahoma to her parents Ben F. Baker and Opal Mae (Baggs) Baker.  She came to McAlester with her family at an early age and was raised and received her education in McAlester.  Hazel worked for many years as a bookkeeper in McAlester, last working for Kentucky Fried Chicken in the accounting department.  She was a member of the Northgate Baptist Church for some 14 years.  She enjoyed arts and crafts working in her garden.

She is survived by sons, Troy Wayne Dobbs of McAlester, OK, Marvin (Andy) Dobbs and wife Marsha of McAlester, OK, Stephen Dobbs and wife Amanda of Houston, TX, Darell Dobbs and wife Gloria of McAlester, OK; daughter, Janice Hill and husband John of Westfork, AR;  brother, Curtis Baker and wife Lily of McAlester, OK; numerous grandchildren.

She preceded in death by her spouses, Troy P. Dobbs and Charles Dobbs; parents, Ben and Opal Baker; daughter, Kathryn; brothers, James and Kenneth Baker; sisters, Clydie Dobbs, Mamie Dobbs, Judy Dysthe, Josephine Phipps and Ima Ree Eller.
