Harlan Sartin was born on July 31, 1962 in McAlester to Harley C. and Greta Ann (Jones) Sartin. Harlan grew up here and graduated from McAlester High School in 1980. He then attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. Harlan married his high school sweetheart, Donna Mitchell, in 2004. Harlan worked for several years in the oilfields as a tanker driver, and was also a cattle rancher. He found joy in traveling and creating lasting memories with his beloved wife, always grateful for the blessings God had given him. The open road called to him, riding alongside his biker brothers, embracing the freedom and camaraderie it brought, knowing each mile was a gift. But, above all, his heart belonged to his grandchildren, spoiling them, sharing laughter, and watching them grow. He thanked the good Lord every day for the privilege of witnessing their joy and the love they shared. Those moments, filled with faith and family, were the greatest sources of happiness and fulfillment in his life.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Donna Sartin; his children, Misty Thompson and husband Jesse, Derrick Wingo and wife Randi; his grandchildren, Madison Wingo, Tyler Crow, Kelli Wingo, Mason Wingo, and Maci Wingo; his great grandchildren, Harper Smith and Carter Smith; and a special friend, Larry Sutton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Greta Sartin, and grandparents, Millie Sartin, Otto Sartin, Elizabeth Jones, and Luther Jones, and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Mitchell.
