Gwen Morrow, 85, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, at her home in McAlester.  Viewing will be Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.  Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pittsburg Baptist Church, with Pastor Kenny Morrow officiating.  Burial will follow at Pittsburg Cemetery.

Gwendolyn Joann Morrow was born on Aug. 25, 1940 in Pittsburg to Paul and Hazel (Kline) Willis.  She grew up in the Pittsburg area and graduated from Haileyville High School.  She worked at Oklahoma Aerotronics until they closed, then went to work at Rockwell until retiring.  She then worked at Jones Academy for several more years.  She loved to cook, and her family could attest that she was a good one.  She was a member of the Pittsburg Baptist Church.

Gwen is survived by her children, James Strickland and his wife Becky, and Gerri Lynn Thompson and her husband Justin; grandchildren, Ashley Strickland, Amber Strickland, Breesy Strickland, Kayla Ketcher, and Kara Kitchell, and numerous great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Whiting and husband Jim, and Debbie Willis; and several nieces and nephews; and a special life-long friend, Christine Barney.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Morrow, 2 granddaughters, Whitney Strickland and Janae Arpelar; a brother, Avance Willis; and sisters, Sherri James, Nita James, Nancy Neighbors, and Gale Thurman.
