George W. McClendon, Jr., 72, of Hartshorne, Passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at his home.

He was born on March 5, 1950 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to George W. McClendon, Sr. and Bettye Lou (Smith) McClendon.  He served and was a Sergeant in the United States Army.  He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching old westerns.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a son, Bryan Johnson and Candi; four grandchildren; sister, Mary Beth Neighbors of Hartshorne, OK; brothers, Jerome McClendon of Hartshorne, OK, Rodney McClendon of Hartshorne, OK and Vance McClendon and Lisa of Miami, OK; nieces, Kirby Smith, MacKenzie Holt, Tasha Kusnir and Angela Turner; nephews, David Neighbors, Jarrod Holt, Christopher McClendon, Jameson McClendon and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George McClendon; mother, Bettye McClendon; sisters, Deborah Neighbors, Cynthia McClendon and Christine McClendon; paternal grandparents, Dan and Mary McClendon; maternal grandparents, S.B. and Lucinda Smith.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Elm Park Cemetery in Hartshorne with Pastor Aaron Williams officiating.  Burial will follow.  Viewing will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
