George Stephen Finamore, age 86, a lifelong resident of Krebs, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

George Stephen Finamore was born on December 9th, 1939, to Carmine and Maria Finamore. He was the youngest of 6 siblings and was a devoted husband and father, successful entrepreneur, and had an inventive mind and crafted handmade tools to solve problems. After graduating from St. Johns, he attended Okmulgee Tech and earned a degree in Mechanical studies. He went on to join the Army National Guard in June of 1958. When he returned to Krebs he met and married his love, Phyllis Marie Titone in September of 1961. He was a devoted and loyal husband, and loving father to Debra, Katrina and Sunnie.

He owned and operated George's Auto Clinic in Krebs for 18 years before going on to work in related mechanical fields until his retirement in 2003. Throughout his life he attended St. Jospeh's Catholic Church and enjoyed participating in Knights of Columbus and Men's club activities.

He was an outdoorsman and grew up as an avid hunter and fisherman, he cherished spending time with friends and family at deer camp, and he always looked forward to sharing a homemade meal and drink.  He loved cooking waffles for breakfast, pasta dishes, beans with cornbread, and his old-time favorite Hummingbird cake for everyone gathered around the campfire.  He enjoyed sharing Italian family traditions of making and enjoying Choc beer and playing Morra. He was also an amateur Hamm radio operator and served the Krebs community as a volunteer fireman and later as fire chief.

George will be remembered for his love of God and family, strong work ethic, service to others, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in family and values he lived by every day.

Survivors include his children, Sunnie Finamore-Landin and husband, Frank Landin of Ft. Worth, TX, Katrina Finamore Prichard and Charles Rosenbaum of McAlester, OK, and Debra Gardner of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, Anna Brown and husband, Cody, Carmine Prichard, Blake Thompson, Breana Thompson, Nina Gardner, Gabriel Landin, Alyssa Landin and Adrian Landin; great-grandchildren are Paxtyn Austin, Scarlett Austin, Harper Thompson, Holden Thompson, Lane Brown, Langley Brown, and Theodora Landin; a sister, Angelina Pace of Denton, TX.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester with Deacon Stephen Dunbar officiating.  Mass will be recited at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Krebs with Father Leonardo Medina officiating, assisted by Deacon Stephen Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to St. Joseph's Men's Club or the Rectory renovation fund.
