Freddie was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 6, 1942 to Pat Lardi and Helen Wansick. He was very proud of his heritage as his father was full blood Italian and his mother was full blood Russian. Freddie attended Catholic school in Michigan before he moved to Oklahoma. Freddie then met his wife, Ginger Lee (Rowan) and on February 28, 1962, they married in McAlester, Oklahoma. They began their family shortly after having three sons and one daughter.

Freddie worked for Rock Island Railroad for 20 years before it went out of business in 1980. He lived in McAlester and Savanna before he settled in and bought a home in Haileyville, Oklahoma in 1977.  Freddie and Ginger owned and operated a bar in Hartshorne, Oklahoma named The Beavers Den for many years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and animal watcher. He loved wildlife of all kinds, as he would often rescue and raise squirrels as pets.

He is survived by his son, Tony Lardi and wife, Shawna Lardi of Haileyville, OK; his daughter, Tonya Campbell and husband, Richard Campbell of Haileyville, OK, and son, Dion Lardi of Haileyville, OK; daughter-in-law, Sandra Lardi; grandchildren, Michael Lardi, Patrick Lardi, Destiny Lardi, and Samantha Harden, Aaron Campbell, Dakota Lardi, Montana Lardi, Cheyenne Sieg, and Langston Lardi; along with 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and one soon to be great-great-grandchild.
