Deaton

Savanna
Floyd "Ed" Deaton was born on Nov. 8, 1959 in Ada to Floyd Deaton and Viva Veach Deaton. He graduated from this life to his heavenly home on July 29, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Ed was a good friend to many people.
Ed was a man who loved the simple life and liked being with friends and family playing guitars and just hanging out together. "Eddie" went to school at Newcastle, home of the Racers, and had many classmates that have remained friends with him through all these years. Ed graduated from Savanna High School. When Ed found out his disease was terminal he said, "I just want to go home"...and he did! After living in Oklahoma City for several years he came home to Savanna.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Viva Deaton; a brother-in-law, Kim Lay; uncles, Denzel, Doyle, and Orben Deaton, Joe Veach; and 3 aunts, Lila Johns, Glenda Vogt and Marena Veach Jones. Ed had also lost a few cousins in the last couple of years that meant a lot to him, Barbara Johnson Hargrave and Jeff Deaton. He is survived by his wife, Fay Stone Deaton of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsye and Price Brown of Henryetta; 2 step-daughters, Trisha LeFlore and Laura Moore of Krebs and a stepson, Leonard Sheldon Hood and wife Julia of Oklahoma City; also, 2 sisters, Robbye and husband Lloyd Watts of Savanna, and Stacye Lay of Haileyville. "Papa Lucy", as he was called by his grandbabies, loved all of them, Pazlye, Krista, Naomi, Sarah, Malachi, Levi, Zadok, Leonard, Robert, Kitty, Isabella and Olivia. He also leaves behind a niece, Amethyst Macal, and several nephews, Jake Watts, Collin, Zach and Marshall Gaines; and numerous "greats", C. J., Kaylie, Raelyn, Zaden, Remye, Alestair, Conner and Aurora. All were lucky enough to have met him and loved him. Also, aunts and uncles, Jerry and Jackie Deaton of Moore and Barbara and Randy Roberson of Savanna. He had 2 special buddies who were life-long friends, Robbie Patton and Ronnie Meadows; and 2 very beloved pets, Ethel and Dante.
This world and all of his friends and family well remember him forever.
A memorial service is planned for November 6, 2021 at the Savanna Cemetery , as a part of his final wish.
Ed asked that no flowers be sent; in lieu of flowers a fund has been set up at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home for anyone to make donations.
