Obituary

Eva Stroer died at age 83 on January 17th, 2023 at her home in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was born in Arkansas and raised in California. She married Silver Jim Stroer in 1956 and they had five children and moved to Alaska in 1985.

Eva was an avid painter, hunter and fisherwoman. She also helped fish and game in California with conservation projects and was a member of Nor Cal and Manteca Bassin' Buddies and Bass and Gals sport fishing clubs where she won many awards and tournaments. Eva was inspired by all wildlife and began to paint Alaska wildlife she also painted many other wildlife and family portraits of her many family members.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband Silver and two children Jim Jr. and grandson she raised as a son, Troy Stroer and her parents Harry and Lura Hooks.

She is survived by her children Lou Roberts, Dawn Carlson, Tina Gerish and Samuel Stroer and their spouses and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
