Ernest Lee Dimitri DeVore, 52, of the Hartshorne area, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Ernest "Ernie" was born on August 3, 1971 in Dallas, Texas to William "Bill" and Donna Kay (Moore) DeVore. He was raised in Teague, Texas and Waco, Texas. He lived in several states, including Hawaii.  He served 4 years in the United States Air Force and married Kathy Jo Goffinet on April 22, 1999.  He was a lover of jokes and was known to program the computers on display in Target and then leave.  His first computer was a Commodore 64 and his gift skill in programming provided for his family throughout their marriage.  He was a devout Christian and was a member of the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church.  He was a loving husband, father, son and brother.  His family was everything to him and he was a trusted friend and was always ready to help.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Jo DeVore; sons, Jared DeVore, Nikki DeVore, Joshua DeVore and Eli DeVore; a daughter, River Lily DeVore; mother, Donna Kay DeVore; and sister, Debbie Laura DeVore.

He was preceded in death by his father, William DeVore.

A Panikhida memorial will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church. Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Hartshorne with Father Alexis Baldwin officiating.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague, Texas.
