Ella Earlene Long, 81, of Hartshorne, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Viewing will be Thursday evening until 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery pavilion in Hartshorne.
Ella Earlene Long was born on June 2, 1943 in Wilburton to Raymond E. and Rebecca (Carriger) Gilreath. She grew up in the Hartshorne/Wilburton area and graduated from Hartshorne High School. As a young adult she married David Anson and moved to Seminole where they lived for a number of years. While there she worked as a seamstress at the Wrangler Jeans plant. She moved back to Hartshorne about 30 years ago. She had also worked at Wal Mart and served as a foster parent for several years. In her spare-time she enjoyed quilting and going fishing. She was of t he Baptist faith.
Earlene is survived by her husband, R. L. Long; children, Kevin Long and Kenny Long and wife Connie; grandchildren, Brian, Emily, Dalton, Fisher, Sara, and Kaylie; great grandchildren, Lionel, Julia, Kendall, and Mia; a brother, Grady Gilreath; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Lee Sudduth, and Polly and Dean Burke; and a daughter-in-law, Staci Anson. She was preceded in death by her first 2 husbands, David Anson and Melvin Tyler; her parents; 2 sons, David Anson and Mark Allen Anson; and a brother, Charles Gilreath.
