Elizabeth Ann Flesher, 94, of McAlester, OK, fought the good fight until she could not fight anymore. She has gone to be with the Lord in heaven. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22nd at McAlester Regional Health Center. Heaven gained an angel who will be terribly missed by her family and friends. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was faithful, kind, generous, positive, and selfless. Always had a smile to give, even to strangers. Always joyfully putting others before herself.

Elizabeth was born on March 22, 1931 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Steven J. and Josephine (Sitter) Bernasky. There, she grew up with her 8 siblings on her parents' farm. After high school, she met Thomas Lloyd Flesher and they were married on September 17, 1950 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated homemaker. Raising their 3 children was priority. She enjoyed gardening in the beautiful wooded lot where they had built their dream home on the hill. She was a talented seamstress, enjoying needlepoint and arts and crafts. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a Eucharistic Minister along with Lloyd. She also worked for Larry Simms Orthodontics as a Dental Receptionist after her children had gone away to college. Working there, she met so many people from the area, getting to know all of them quite well.

Elizabeth loved animals and had a passion for her pet cats over the years. From the deer running through their wooded lot, raccoons and stray cats showing up at the back porch, and the birds, especially the cardinals were her favorite. And her surviving cat, Miss Kitty, misses her so much. The wooded lot their home was built on was made into like a sanctuary. Placing many various statues up in "the rocks" near the tea house, and bridges across the little stream. With flowerbeds around the gazebo, her creative nature showed throughout. People often drive by and gaze at what her and Lloyd created together. And just to mention the countless remodeling projects they did over the years.

Her Survivors include her loving husband of 75 years, Thomas Lloyd Flesher of McAlester, children, Richard Lloyd Flesher and daughter-in-law Karen Flesher of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary Stephen Flesher of Atlanta, GA. and Sharon Ann (Flesher) Traverse of Garland, TX; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, two sisters Mary Stizza of McAlester, OK and Molly Homer of Paris, TX.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Josephine Bernasky; brothers: Wallace Bernasky, Robert Bernasky, Johnnie Bernasky and Teddy Bernasky; sisters: Delores Klein and Kathleen Woosley.

Elizabeth's life was a gift to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at St. John Catholic Church in McAlester with the Very Rev. Jovita C. Okonkwo officiating.  Burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in McAlester. Active pallbearers will be David Stizza, David Clark, Frank Homer, Jr., Mark Homer, Richard Rice, and Teddy Joe Sitter.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jackie Stems.
