Obituary

Donna Bell Miller, 82, of McAlester, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 in McAlester.  The family will welcome friends for viewing and visitation on Monday, March 20, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 21, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church of McAlester, with Pastor Steve Mayhew officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Casey Burch, Damien West, Brian West, J. P. Miller, Trent Miller, Grayson Mullins, Kabrin Towns, and Zadin Whorton.  Honorary pallbearers are Keith Bigelow, Bobby Mullins, and Cole Chancellor.

Donna Miller was born on June 24, 1940 in McAlester to Limon and Mary Lee (Thrasher) Harrison.  She grew up here and has lived here all her life.  She married Junior Miller on Aug. 30, 1961, and he preceded her in death.  Donna was a very proud member of the Choctaw Tribe.  Through her husband, who was a veteran, Donna was associated with the American Legion and the VFW Post 1098.  She loved to play bingo, do crossword puzzles, quilt and sew.  She also collected bells, angels and butterflies.

Donna is survived by her children, Frances West, Doris Small and Kenny, Freddie Miller and Geneva, and Helen Bigelow and Keith; grandchildren, Bryan West and Sheila, Damien West, LaCrisha Johnson and Joseph, Treasure West, Amber Mullins and Bobby, Rainy Franklin and Chase, Naomi Miller and Cole, J. P. Miller and Katelynn, Trenton Miller, Jessica Burch and Casey, and Jeannie Whorton; 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Juanita Watts, Wanda Gray, Wayne Harrison, and Jessie Lee Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sharon Blasengame.  She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; siblings, Eugene Harrison, Tildon Harrison, Inez Talley, Rosetta York, Earnest Harrison, and George Harrison; and a great granddaughter, Sophia Chancellor.
