Donald Eugene Howell, 93, of Quinton, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Muskogee.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Quinton Public School's Jayne Ogden Lynch Theatre.  Pallbearers are Douglas Howell, Jr., Cole Howell, Andrew Howell, David Putman, Wade Putman, and Jason Parks.  The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Donald Howell was born on December 30, 1931, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Charles and Iva (Green) Howell. Donald grew up in Brooken and graduated from Quinton High School in 1949.  He attended college at East Central University in Ada where he received his Bachelor's of Science Degree.  Donald married Jane Nicole Wilcox on January 24, 1961, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Donald began his work career in education by teaching in Arizona and Oklahoma, including work at Connors State College in Warner.  He also worked for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma assisting high school students make plans for their future and the State of Oklahoma. Donald spent the last of his working career in his own business in Oklahoma's oil and gas industry. Donald, a 32nd degree Mason, was a 50-plus year member of the Masonic Lodge of Oklahoma and was also a 50-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  His favorite past-time was playing dominoes with his friends. Donald served in the United States Air Force for 4 years during the Korean Conflict.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jane Nicole Howell; his children: Douglas Howell and wife Betty, Michael and LaDonna Howell, and Bart Howell; his grandchildren, Douglas Howell, Jr., Cole Howell and Jessica, Andrew Howell and Korra, and Amanda Howell; his great-grandchildren, Easton and Gracelynn Howell.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
