Donald G. Groves, 80, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 in Oklahoma City.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Palestine Community Church near Quinton, Oklahoma with Rev. Cardell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaiah Doster, Josh Carney, Chuck Groves, Chris Groves, Josh Cloud, David Pryor, Chad Pryor, Joe Leitka, Brian Hoerchler, Scott Hoerchler, Sonny Leitka.

Donald was born on January 11, 1944 in McAlester to Frank B. and Mary (Baker) Groves.  He married Paulette Carney on August 24, 1968 in McAlester.  He spent many years in drywall construction.  He coached softball and football. He enjoyed watching his children play softball and soccer.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed mowing and welding in his free time.

Survivors include a daughter, Mitzi Groves; son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Melissa Groves; grandchildren, Isaiah Doster, Kylie Groves and Lily Groves; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Patsey Groves; numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette, on February 9, 2024; and his parents; a niece and aunts and uncles.
