Don
Colbert
Sep 15, 1951 — Aug 8, 2021
Hartshorne
Don Colbert told his last inappropriate joke in the early morning hours of August 8 th , 2021.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with Rev. Mary Taken officiating. Family request that those attending please wear a mask. Pallbearers will be Tim Colbert, Jamie Colbert, Ricky Tedder, Chad Perkins, Bob Sanor and Carl Mathews.
Don was 69 years young and fearlessly lived his life in such a way that would have sent a lesser man to his grave decades ago. He was born in Visalia, California and spent much of his early years there. After wearing out his welcome there, he moved to Oklahoma.
Throughout his life he was an accomplished bridge and water tower painter, mechanic, know-it-all, and keeper of the remote control.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly of 24 years and lovingly remembered by his children, Tim Colbert and wife Tammy of Hartshorne, Jamie Colbert and wife Christie of McAlester and Lisa Colbert of Hartshorne; step-son, Chris French of Haileyville; two sisters, Sandra Le Jeune of McAlester, Cynthia Colbert of Haileyville and one brother, Ronnie Colbert of Cotton Valley, LA; numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thank you to the medical staff of the Choctaw Nation and beloved nurse Heather McGuire.
In lieu of flowers, Don says flowers are for poo-nanny's. Buy yourself a mushroom Swiss burger or some fried catfish instead.
