David Wayne Stewart, 56, of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021. Services will be Friday July 30, 2021, to begin at 6:00 PM, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester, Oklahoma.

A Private Burial will be Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester.

David Stewart was born on Dec. 17, 1964, in Oklahoma City to Melvin Wayne Stewart and Wanda Ruth (Loafman) Stewart. He grew up in Spiro Oklahoma, where he met Peggy Means and they began to build a life together. They later moved to McAlester, Oklahoma, to start and raise a family. After several years in McAlester they moved to Arkoma, Oklahoma to raise their Grandchildren. David loved and was immensely proud of his family. They took their grandchildren on many outings their favorite being the science museums. He was a big kid at heart and did not mind showing it.

David worked for a brief time as a hospital custodian, loved the outdoors so much he spent most of his life Mowing and Landscaping. He never met a stranger and would be the first to offer his help to anyone. He was very funny and loved being the center of attention. He remained close to several of his cousins and made sure to call and check on them frequently.

David is survived by his loving companion Louanne Mcguire of Bokoshe, Ok., Children, Joshua Stewart, Gary Allen Means, and Jessica Means-Mills; grandchildren, Jarrod, Gabryella, Jerimyah, Lilly and Mayson; His sister, Paula (Tim) Baker; brother, Timothy Stewart; Aunts and Uncles; Barbara Lakey, Dorothy Spruiell, Ken (Barbara) Stewart, Jonny Stewart, and Sandra (Marvin) Coleman. The mother of his children; Peggy Means; Nieces, nephews and cousins to numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Justin Leon Stewart; and a sister, Patty Stewart.
