Obituary

Dana Marie Workman-Lusk, 46, of Haywood, passed away Monday, March 7, in McAlester.  A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March14, at 1:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel.

Dana Marie Workman was born on Jan. 12, 1976 in McAlester to Fred and Debra (Gibson) Workman.  She grew up in the Haywood area and attended school at Haywood Elementary and graduated from Stuart High School.  As a teen she worked at Arrowhead Lodge, Taco Bell, and later for attorney Tom Webb.  She attended Kiamichi Vo-Tech and earned a degree as a paralegal.  At a young age she learned to ride horses and help her father on the ranch.  She loved to barrel race at the rodeos.  Her favorite past-time was spending time with her 2 daughters, her new grandbaby, and the rest of her family.  She never met a stranger; she loved to talk and visit with whomever would listen.  She also enjoyed listening to rock and roll music and attending concerts, and spent lots of time working in the flower beds and potting plants.  She was a member of the Haywood Baptist Church.

Dana is survived by her 2 daughters, Destiny Sparks and husband Jimmy, and Harley Raleigh; a grand-daughter, Daylan Sparks; her parents, Fred and Debbie Workman; 2 sisters, Laticia Workman and husband James Hightower, and Tabatha McGee and husband Shaun; a niece, Lily Hightower; and 4 nephews, Briar Hightower, River Hightower, Carson McGee, and Cale McGee, all of whom she loved dearly; and numerous cousins.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Marie Gibson and paternal grandparents, Buddy and Jonnye Workman.
