Clarice Lee LaGasse, 84, of Edmond, a former long-time resident of McAlester, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, in Edmond. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Clarice Lee LaGasse was born on Aug. 20 1938 in Oak Hill, Okla., near Broken Bow, the daughter of Ruel and Johnnie Dee (Roberts) Rhoden. She and Don LaGasse were married in Broken Bow and made their home in McAlester for many years. Clarice was an educator and a child care advocate, and was quite proud of her work as Community Services Coordinator. In her spare-time she enjoyed traveling, reading, working puzzles, working in her flower gardens, and spending time with her family, and especially being a Grandma. She is survived by her daughters, Lori LaGasse and Gordon Kane, and Leslie Roubik and husband Geoff; grandsons, Alexander and Jack Roubik; a sister, Carolyn Jones; sisters-in-law, Patricia Prince, Paulette LaGasse, and Jane Rhodes; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and her parents.
