Christopher Dean Sewell, 69, of McAlester, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee.  Arrangements have been completed for cremation.

Christopher Sewell was born on Nov. 24, 1956, in Ardmore, Okla., to C. W. "Sonny" Sewell and Peggy (Lance) Beyer. He spent most of his younger years in Chickasha, where he graduated from high school. After graduation, Chris worked hard at learning to design custom jewelry and soon became a highly respected jeweler, designing work for customers across the country. He moved to Tulsa and worked for Moody's Jewelry until he moved to McAlester, where he, alongside his family he shared 30 years with, opened Sewell's Jewelry. He loved to go fishing when he could break away from work, especially in his younger years.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Shambri Sewell; granddaughter, Lillian Dalpoas; brother, Clifton Sewell; half-brothers, Michael, Jason, John, and Zac; half-sisters, Randi Reed and Amy Sewell-Bonnell; and nephews, Benjamin Sewell, Nicholas Sewell, Christopher Sewell, and Brandon Sewell. Chris was preceded in death by his parents and half-sister, Rebecca Parker.
