Christopher Robert Schumacher, 35, of Hartshorne, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.  A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Haileyville School Gymnasium with Pastor Clint Pope officiating.

Christopher Schumacher was born on July 19, 1988, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  As a child, he grew up in North Dakota until moving to Nebraska in the 5th grade.  For some time, he lived in England until moving to Talihina, OK, where he met his wife, Kara Dawn Pingleton.  They were married on June 2, 2018 and made their home in Hartshorne.  Christopher was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force for 8 years and was currently serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.  He was employed by the Oklahoma State Parks as a Park Ranger for the last several years and was a volunteer firefighter for the Hartshorne Fire Department. In his spare time, Christopher liked to go hunting and fishing, and was an excellent cook.

Christopher is survived by his wife, Kara Schumacher; twin daughters, Haven and Harley Schumacher; his parents, Chad and Colleen Schumacher; a sister, Jessica Fernau and Elgin and their children Ruger and Kort; a brother, Kenny Schumacher and partner Katie Lulf and their child, Jayven; grandparents, Marilyn Carl, and Paul and Donna Pingleton; brother-in-law, Jared Pingleton and Kathy and their children, Caleb and Lily; and a sister-in-law, Amy Tery and Joey and their daughter, Sierra.

Christopher is preceded in death by his uncle Marty "Sparky" Sparks.
