Charles E. Russell, 87, of Quinton, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home.

Charles was born on August 27, 1935 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Melvin and Zela (Coffman) Russell.  He grew up in Quinton and met Gail Roberts in the 7 ^th grade.  He later married Gail on March 23, 1953 in Hoyt, Oklahoma.  He was a Chemist for the USDA and a lifelong rancher.  He enjoyed farm work and brush hogging.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Russell; daughters, Nancy Lee and Debbie Kidder; four grandchildren, Kristin Johnson, Lindsay Collins, Drew Kidder and Zach Lee; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Doyle, Cameron Doyle, Caleb Lloyd, Cade Johnson, Emerson Collins, Drake Kidder, Lilly Collins and Dax Kidder; one brother, Lloyd Russell and one sister, Frances Blevins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Russell; grandson, Nick Lee and one sister, Melba Dobbs.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Palestine Community Church near Quinton with Pastor Cardell Johnson officiating, assisted by Dr. Charles Woodridge.  Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Drew Kidder, Zack Lee, Caleb Lloyd, Jordan Doyle, Cameron Doyle, Cade Johnson, Emerson Collins and Josh Cloud.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Hill, I.B. Davis, Darrell Adcock, Joe Guess, the late C.J. Adcock, the late Bob Callaway and the late Paul Pierce.
