Charles Edward "Chuck" Gore, 80, of Hartshorne, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, at his home in Hartshorne. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Okla. Honorary pallbearers are Cliff Morgan, Allen Stark, Nick Stark, Marty McBee, Tristen McBee, Grayson McBee, and Jeffery Mahan.
Charles "Chuck" Gore was born on April 29l 1945 in Turlock, California to Homer Blaine Gore and Lillian (Wolfe) Gore. He grew up in California and has made Hartshorne home for the past 40 years. Chuck was married to Virginia Glenn in Hot Springs, Ark. Chuck worked as a carpenter, doing, mainly, handy-man and home repair jobs. He also worked as a butcher for many years. His hobbies included woodcraft and gardening. Chuck also served in the United State Army from 1963 to 1967; serving a combat tour in Viet Nam, and receiving his honorable discharge with a rank of Staff Sergeant.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Virginia (Glenn) Mahan-Gore; his children, Sheldon Gore, Crystal Madden, and Jeffery Mahan; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Frank Gore; and 2 sisters, Nettie Simpson and Erma Swepston. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
