Charles Lee Everett, 76, of Kiowa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at his home.
Celebration of life services will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Pastor Kenny Morrow officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Kellogg, Chad Graham, Brian Brown, and Mark Ichord.
Charles was born on July 26, 1948 at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio to Robert Lee and Bertha Rae (Morgan) Everett. He married April Burnsed on July 30, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He taught French for many years at McAlester High School and later taught and was principal at Savanna Schools for a number of years. He was also a counselor for Savanna and Pittsburg schools before his retirement. He was a talented musician, playing trumpet, guitar, and singing. He enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, airplanes, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandkids. He also loved going to deer camp with his friends in Daisy, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Survivors include his wife, April Everett; children and spouses, April and Brad Church, Jeffery Mackey, Ryan and April Mackey, Joshua and Liz Mackey, and Elizabeth and George Hall; grandchildren, Garrett Church, Jacob and Danielle Church, Devan Howard and fiancé, Lance Bookout, Joshua Byrd, Daniel DeClark, Paul DeClark, Lauren Phelps, Benjamin Mackey, Cabella Mackey, Adriana Mackey, Victoria Hall, and Jackson Hall; great-grandchildren, Andria McKendrick, Sagen Osterhout, and Remy Church; sister, Tina Walls; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Everett; mother, Bertha Rae Holbrook; daughter, Laurie Everett; and sister, Glenda Hargrove.
