Catherine Cherie Housley, 73, of McAlester, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at McAlester Regional Health Center.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug.27, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kiowa Cemetery pavilion.

Catherine Housley was born on Jan. 8, 1948 in McAlester and was raised by her parents, Sam and Gladys Housley.  She has lived all her life in McAlester.  She was a member of the Red Hat Club and loved doing arts and crafts.  She made jewelry and pottery and made life-like looking flowers and plants out of cardboard.  She had also served as the treasurer for the Oklahoma Home Community Education, a branch of the OSU Extension service.  She is survived by her children, Zella Kincaid and husband Bobby and their son, Casey Kincaid; Mike Jackson; and Bobby Jackson.  She was preceded in death by a son, Branden Housley; a brother, Sonny Paul DeWeese; and a half-brother, C. T. Bowers.
