Carroll Ray Golden, of Krebs, OK, was welcomed into his heavenly rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the age of 88.

He was born on December 4, 1933 in Caney, Oklahoma to Grady S. and Wynonna (Dollarhide) Golden.  He was united in marriage to Cleo Imogene Whitmire on March 24, 1952 in Sherman, Texas.  He was a longtime member and former Mayor and councilman of Krebs, Oklahoma. Him and his wife lived 64 years on the corner of 5 ^th and Grant where they raised their three children.  Mr. Golden ate plenty of dandelion salads and mud pies, taught great-grandkids to ride bikes, looked for alligators and walked a zillion miles pushing "the little blue jeep." He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed going fishing at Sis and Don's ranch. He retired from Sooner Airgas and later owned and operated Assured Fire Safety for 38 years before retiring again.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Cleo Golden of the home; daughters, Carolyn and husband Don Scherman of Crowder, OK, Gail Reamy and Barry Howell of McKinney, TX; brothers, J.B. Golden of Caddo, OK, Thomas Golden of Hopewell, OK, and foster brother, Arnold Wayne Whooten of Caddo, OK; sisters, Sharon Foster of Danbury, TX, Elizabeth Horton of Tupelo, OK, Linda Hutchens of Mead, OK, Mennie Watson of Durant, OK and Elouise Dodd of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, Donny Ray Scherman of Indianola, OK, John Golden of California, Carrol Golden of Maine, Rachel McGraw of Maine, Melissa Hamilton of McAlester, OK, Heather Reamy of McAlester, OK, Miranda Reamy of Celina, TX; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Golden; son-in-law, Patrick Reamy, Jr.; parents, Grady S. Golden and Wynonna (Dollarhide) Golden; step-mother, Marie Golden; brothers, Frank Golden, Lee Golden, Charles Vaughn and A.J. Golden; sisters, Betty Tolar and Rose James.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Chaplain Jeff Little officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.  Active pallbearers will be Escort PFC Bryan Blake Reamy, Bo Hamilton, Mark Scherman, Kolton Watts, Sr., Brenton Donnell, Joshua Stuart and Barry Howell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Ray Scherman, John Golden, Carroll Golden, Kyle Scherman, C.J. Cruz-Reamy, Xander Underwood, Colt Ray Tatum, Jaxon Donnell and K.J. Watts, Jr.
