Carrie Sue Wagenknecht, 66, of Adamson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, at her home in Adamson.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Funeral services will be Friday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester, with Pastor Fred Morrison officiating.  Burial will follow at Hugh Low Cemetery near Scipio.  Pallbearers are John Clemens, III, Justin Good Luke Reeves, Landon Bond Sam Little, Sam Chapman, and Ryan Pendergraft.  Honorary pallbearers are Larry Herron, Johnny Anderson, Shannon Edwards, Jaylon Jennings, Lance Weeks, and Michael Sudduth.

Carrie Wagenknecht was born on Dec. 16, 1959 in Bakersfield, California to Carl and Geneva (Ford) Anderson.  For the rest several years, her family was back and forth between Oklahoma and California, but Adamson has always been home for Carrie.  She married the love of her life, Donald Wagenknecht in 1995, and he preceded her in death in 2017.  Carrie worked as a CNA at several local nursing homes for a number of years, until she went to work at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary as dietician and food supervisor.  She was also well known to be a "momma, nannie, or auntie" to numerous kids through the years.  She would always welcome any who were in need of shelter, clothes, of food.  When a new kid would show up, one of her first questions was "Are you hungry?'  Carrie was a long time member of the Adamson Baptist Church.

Carrie is survived by her children, Mark McManus and Carla Little; step-children, Matt Wagenknecht and wife Kat, and Vaunda Wagenknecht;  grandchildren, Sam Little, and Carlie Fennell and husband Kyle and their son Joe-Henry Fennell, Kailey Chapman and husband Sam and their children Elise and Grayson, Ryan Pendergraft, Landon Bond, Keeli Bond, Amber Wagenknecht, Dylan Wagenknecht, Jess Ruff, Ethan Ruff, and Keirstan Wagenknecht; 3 sisters, Brenda Herron and Larry, Glenda Young and Jason, and Linda Anderson; a brother, Johnnie Anderson; a special aunt, Lynnie Morrison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a grandson, Hunter; 2 brothers, Gene and Benny Anderson; and a special uncle, Fred Morrison.
