Obituary

Carolyn Diane Hensley, 76, of the Alderson area, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025 at McAlester Regional Health Center.  The family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday, October 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Funeral services are set for Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester with Darren Harber officiating.  Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma at a later date.  Pallbearers are Jason Harkins, Joe McAlester, Latt Jeffrey, Jeremy Vinson, Mike Williams and Paul Sells.  Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Leathers, Robert Yother, Leland Walker and Darrel Harber.

Carolyn Hensley was born on November 2, 1948 in Texarkana, Texas to Wilburn E. "Pete" Lindsey and Ruth Maxine (Butler) Lindsey.  She grew up in Forman, Arkansas until her family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana.  She married Chester Hensley on April 20, 1981 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and they made their home there until they moved to the McAlester area 35 years ago.  Carolyn was an all-around animal lover.  She loved living in the country where she could enjoy all the wild critters, her dogs, and, especially, her horses.  She loved horses and loved to go horseback riding. Carolyn was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Chester Hensley; her children, Jessica Marie Hensley and her husband Terry, and Ronald Jay Hensley; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and James Frizell.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
