Carolyn Sue DeBrosky

Carolyn Sue (Prater) DeBrosky, 73, passed away on October 29, 2026. Carolyn was born on June 22, 1953, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Jess Prater and Margaret Cooley. She married Alfred Edward DeBrosky on September 11, 1999, and together they shared 27 years of marriage. Carolyn found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life and the time spent with those closest to her. Whether tending to her garden, preparing a meal for family and friends, or enjoying the peace and quiet of the country, these were among the things that brought her happiness. She is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Edward DeBrosky; her children, Chris Herrin and his wife, Angela, of Krebs; Richard DeBrosky and his wife, Rhiannon, of Ada; Michelle Moore and her husband, Chris, of Mustang; and David DeBrosky of McAlester. She is also survived by her nephew, Jeff Thompson, and his wife, Lawanna, of McAlester; her niece, Stacie Prater, of Krebs; along with many grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Prater and Margaret Cooley; her siblings, Shirley Thompson and Jimmy Prater; her niece, Angela Prater; and her dear friend, affectionately known as "Betty Boop." The viewing will be held Tuesday, November 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Carolyn's life and pay their final respects. Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Her love of family, enjoyment of country living, and the memories she created with those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
