Carole Jane Sheller

Carole Jane Sheller, 85, passed away into the arms of her Savior on Friday, September 25, 2026, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma.

Carole was born on July 23, 1941, in Odessa, Texas, to Jack T. and Nadine (Crutcher) Seymour. She was raised in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in social services and art. In her younger years, Carole focused on raising her two children, Tina and Steven, and beginning her calling in ministry as an ordained minister, a calling that would span her entire life. She spent some time as a missionary in Mexico and later relocated to Oklahoma, where she continued to minister at Word of Life Church in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma, as well as ministering to those in prisons and nursing homes.

Carole’s career included working for the Department of Human Services for several years and later spending several years as a manager at Days Inn in Paul's Valley. After retirement, she returned to Texas for some time before moving back to Oklahoma, where she spent her final years. Most importantly, she was proud of her family, showing them off whenever she could. She never met a stranger and seemed to find someone she knew everywhere she went.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Nadine Seymour; and sisters, Donna and Jackie.

She is survived by her brother, Stan Seymour; her children, Tina Muscott and husband, Carl, and Steven Sheller and wife, Ruth; grandchildren, Patti Carter and husband, Nick, Sarah Gonzalez, Sam Gonzalez, Daniel Sheller and wife, Elizabeth, and Aimee Sheller; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family members; and dear friends.

Carole’s family will honor her memory with a get-together in the spring of 2027 in her home state of Texas, where they will share the best of their Carole and “Memaw” memories.
