Carl Henry Thomason, 70, of McAlester, formerly of Hartshorne, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, at his home in McAlester.  Viewing will be Thursday, Nov. 30, until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Carl Henry Thomason was born on Dec. 28, 1952 in Wilburton to Elvin Frankin Thomason and Opal Camella (Ott) Thomason.  He grew up in Higgins, then Hartshorne and graduated from Hartshorne High School.  He soon went to work at Oklahoma Aerotronics until it closed, then he went to work at the Pittsburg County courthouse as a maintenance worker, until he retired.  Carl lived in Hartshorne virtually all his life, until 6 years ago when he moved to McAlester.  In his spare time, Carl liked to hunt and fish.  He was also an accomplished guitar player and played in local bands for many years.

Carl is survived by 5 step-children, Robin, Kimber, Selvin, Ricky, and Shannon, and their mother, Linda Moore; a host of step-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Thomason, David Thomason, George Thomason, Richard Thomason, James Thomason, and Calvin Thomason; a sister, Carol Woods; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Opal; 2 brothers, Niles Thomason and Robert Thomason; and a sister, Mary Clunn.
