Bobby Mac Yount, 81, of Crowder, passed away Thursday, June 9, in Tulsa.  The family will welcome friends for viewing and visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, at 10:00 a.m. at the North Town Church of Christ, with brother Steve Lay officiating.  Burial will follow at Crowder Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Randy Workman, Galen Brannon, Rodney Ragan, Kenny Leak, Charles Rowell, and Tom Baxter.  Honorary pallbearers are Carl Garis, Jerry Williams, Aubrey Edwards, John Baucom, Brook Hopson, Arlan Bailey, Ron Main, Bob Trollinger, Maverick Rowell, Monard Stansell, and Hal Egger.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis.

Bobby Yount was born on Jan. 15, 1941 in Ashland to Logan and Kathryn (Brannon) Yount.  He graduated from Crowder High School in 1959, received his Bachelor's Degree in 1965 from Southeastern State University, then got his Master's Degree from Ft. Hays University in 1970.  He earned his principal's certificate in 1974 and his superintendent certificate in 1980.  Bobby taught, coached and served as administrator at Crowder for 40 years.

Bobby married Wanda Cooper on September 2, 1960 and obeyed the gospel that same year.  He was very active in the church, serving as an elder for 42 years.  He studied his Bible every day and had a very active prayer life.

Bobby is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Wanda Yount; 3 children, Sherry Lay and Mark, Keith Yount, and Cynthia Crouch and Gary; grandchildren, Tara Lay Horton and Matt, Cooper Lay, Nikki Crouch; great grandchildren, Reid, Libby, Haskell, and Amelia; and brothers, Dale Yount and Terry Yount.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Kathryn Yount.
