Bobby Joe Camp (Papa Bob) , 81, of McAlester, passed away Monday, July 27, at his home in High Hill.

Viewing will be Wednesday from 12;00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.  Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bache-Red Oak Cemetery pavilion in Bache, with Mike Andrews officiating.  Pallbearers are Cody Camp, Dillon Camp, Brett Camp, Westyn Camp, Brad Camp, Jimmy Camp, Eddie Michael Camp, and Harley Camp.  Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Norris, Mark Ichord, Lee Green, Ray Brewer, Mark Ong, and Ray Pool.

Bobby Joe Camp was born on Jan. 25, 1945 in McAlester to William Cody and Mary Ola (Ong) Camp. He grew up in the High Hill area and has lived there virtually all his life.  He and Linda Tinker were married on March 19, 1964 at the High Hill Baptist Church.  Bobby Joe has been a rancher all his life; he and his brothers operated the Camp Brothers Ranch for many years.  He also worked at the Army Ammunition Plant for 10 years, during the Viet Nam war, and served in the Army Reserves for several years.  His passion in life, though, was his faith and his family.  He was a life-long member and past deacon of the High Hill Baptist Church.  And he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who looked forward every year to the annual trip to deer camp, where many good memories were made with friends and family. He also loved fishing for crappie and catfish on peaceable creek with his wife and family

Bobby Joe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Linda Camp; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Lynn Camp and wife Lisa, and Eddie Joe Camp and wife Melynda;3 brothers and sisters-in-law, William E. and Sharon Camp, Jimmy A. and Brenda Camp, and Ed and Linda R. Camp and sister in laws Janice Camp and Helen Noble :grandchildren, Cody Camp and wife Emily, Dillon Camp and wife Anna, Brett Camp, Madeline Camp, and Westyn Camp; great grandchildren, Harper Camp, Sawyer Camp, Sutten Camp, Fisher Camp, Timber Camp, Mac Robertson, and Raylee Butcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the High Hill Baptist Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
