Barbara Jewlene Gibson, 55, of Canadian, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at her home near Canadian.  Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.

Barbara Gibson was born on Nov. 11, 1967 in Phoenix, Ariz. To Sammy Leon Key and Lillian Carolyn (Ford) Key.  She came to McAlester as a baby and has lived here ever since, except for the last year when she moved to the Canadian area.  She married Ron Gibson, and he preceded her in death in 2020.  Barbara worked as a dietary cook, for several years, at several nursing homes in McAlester.  She loved the "old folks" and was proud to be a part of their care.  At home, she loved to sing and cook, especially during her favorite holiday, Christmas; and her grandkids were very special to her.

Barbara is survived by her children, Tony Webster, Alexander Gibson, and Carolyn Davenport and Mathew; 10 grandchildren; a brother, John Paul Key; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
